SPEARFISH, S.D. — October 2025 — Dylan S. Clarkson, President and CEO of Pioneer Bank & Trust, has received and accepted two prestigious appointments to key state and national banking organizations, effective this month.
Clarkson has been appointed by the Governor of South Dakota to serve as a member of the South Dakota Banking Commission for a three-year term, running from October 2025 through October 2028. The five-member commission oversees the South Dakota Division of Banking, which regulates and supervises state-chartered banks and other financial institutions across the state.

The national council advises the ABA on federal policy and advocacy matters that impact the banking industry throughout the United States.
“I am deeply honored to accept these appointments and appreciate the trust placed in me by the Governor and the American Bankers Association,” said Clarkson. “Serving on both the state commission and the national council allows me to advocate for sound, tailored policy that ensures the continued strength and viability of community banks, which are the economic backbone of communities across South Dakota and the nation.”
