Cole-TAC LLC Expands Operations in Rapid City

Last Updated 7 months ago

Two years after relocating to Rapid City, South Dakota, Cole-TAC, LLC has been able to hire more people than in the 6 years the company operated in New Hampshire. Now, the company is ready to expand its operations once again.

Cole-TAC, LLC is a tactical accessory manufacturer, founded in 2015. What started as an 8200-square-foot facility for its Rapid City headquarters operations is adding a 10,000-square-foot expansion. This expansion will allow for additional equipment, workforce, and the potential to expand product design offerings.

“Liene and I are thrilled to expand our Cole-TAC operations here in Rapid City,” Dustin Coleman, president of Cole-TAC LLC stated. “When we moved our company from New Hampshire in 2021, we had no idea of the potential growth and success our company would find in the Black Hills. This 10,000-square-foot addition will allow us to better meet our loyal customers’ needs and expand our product line. While other companies send jobs overseas, we proudly design and manufacture our gear in the USA down to the last thread. We feel grateful for the steadfast support and guidance from Elevate Rapid City and the South Dakota Governor’s Office of Economic Development, and we look forward to continued growth.”

Cole-TAC currently has 30 full-time employees, including engineers and local Native American quilters and beaders whose meticulous attention to detail has been a huge asset to the sewing team. 15 new full-time employees will be added over the next year with this expansion. The largest driving force behind Cole-TAC’s ability and need to expand has been continued sales growth.

Elevate Rapid City’s Business Retention and Expansion program was able to assist with this expansion by connecting Cole-TAC with financing resources. Kallie Ruland, business development manager for Elevate shared, “We are grateful to have Cole-TAC located in Rapid City. It was my pleasure to assist the company and I’m excited to see them expand their operations here. Manufacturing is one of Rapid City’s key industries and we know local business expansions like this have a large impact on our economy by creating jobs and growing local supply chain development.” The South Dakota Governor’s Office of Economic Development was one of the key partners assisting with funding.
