BOX ELDER, S.D. — Community members gathered in Box Elder to celebrate the grand reopening of the local Flying J Travel Center, marking the completion of a significant facility makeover.
According to a social media post from the Box Elder Area Chamber of Commerce, the event drew attention to the renovated travel center and its updated appearance. The Chamber described the reopening as a successful community event and highlighted the location’s popular Statue of Liberty photo opportunity.
The remodeled travel center serves travelers along the Interstate 90 corridor and remains a key stop for visitors, commercial drivers and residents in the Box Elder area.
The grand reopening reflects continued commercial investment in the rapidly growing Box Elder community, which has seen sustained residential and business development in recent years due to its proximity to Rapid City, Ellsworth Air Force Base and the Black Hills region.
Community leaders and visitors attending the event were invited to tour the updated facility and celebrate the completion of the renovation project.
