RAPID CITY, S.D. (Oct. 16, 2025) — Monument Health has announced the addition of Jake Enos, M.D., a fellowship-trained orthopedic sports medicine specialist, to its Orthopedics & Sports Medicine practice in Spearfish. The move expands access to advanced orthopedic care for athletes and active residents across the northern Black Hills.
Dr. Enos joins orthopedic surgeons Richard Little, M.D., FAAOS, and Scott Franssen, D.O., at Monument Health’s East Colorado Boulevard location. The Spearfish team provides comprehensive orthopedic and sports medicine services, including surgical care, athletic training, and strength and conditioning programs for local athletes.
“Dr. Enos’s expertise in sports medicine perfectly complements our commitment to keeping our communities active and healthy,” said Thomas Worsley, Spearfish Hospital President. “His fellowship training means our athletes and active patients have access to the most current techniques in sports injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation.”
Dr. Enos completed a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals & Clinics in Madison, following his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He earned his medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno.
The addition of Dr. Enos supports Monument Health’s continued investment in orthopedic services throughout the region. Two additional orthopedic surgeons are slated to join the Spearfish practice in 2026, further enhancing access to specialized musculoskeletal care across western South Dakota.
Between July 1 and Oct. 1, 2025, Monument Health also welcomed 31 new physicians across 15 specialties, including cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, endocrinology, gastroenterology, neurology, psychiatry, and orthopedic surgery.
Headquartered in Rapid City, Monument Health operates five hospitals and 40 clinics across 14 communities in western South Dakota and eastern Wyoming. The health system, with more than 5,000 physicians and caregivers, is a proud member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network.
