SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Sept. 10, 2025) — A Sioux Falls professional’s TEDx talk on parenting and esports is headed to a global stage.
SDN Communications announced that Marketing Manager Hannah Boquet’s talk, “How Esports Are a Parenting Power-up,” has been selected to appear on TED.com, the flagship platform of the nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas worldwide.
Boquet’s talk, first delivered at TEDxSiouxFalls, explores how joining her children’s world of online gaming helped her build stronger family connections. She describes how esports can be a tool for parents, educators and community leaders to teach leadership, teamwork and communication while creating inclusive spaces for kids.
“Esports gave me a way to connect with my kids on their terms,” Boquet said. “I’m excited that more families and communities can learn how gaming can become a bridge to deeper connection and growth.”
Her talk will be published on TED.com Sept. 17 at 11 a.m. ET, joining a library of presentations viewed by millions of parents, educators, technologists and community leaders. Talks chosen for the platform are selected for their universal relevance and actionable insights.
SDN Communications CEO Ryan Punt said the selection underscores how technology can be used to strengthen communities. “Hannah’s message shows that technology, when embraced with intention, can bring people closer together,” Punt said.
