RAPID CITY, S.D. (Sept. 10, 2025) — Monument Health Rapid City Hospital has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a High Performing hospital in its 2025-2026 Best Hospitals rankings.

The hospital earned the distinction for abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, heart attack, pacemaker implantation, pneumonia and prostate cancer surgery. “High Performing” is the highest recognition available in the publication’s Procedures & Conditions ratings, which evaluate nearly 5,000 hospitals nationwide.

“It is a privilege to once again be recognized by U.S. News & World Report for the outstanding care delivered by our dedicated teams at Monument Health Rapid City Hospital,” said Jill Tice, Monument Health vice president of quality, safety and risk management. “This distinction is a testament to our unwavering focus on providing the highest level of patient care and making a meaningful difference in the lives of our community members.”

The annual ratings are designed to help patients and providers make informed decisions about treatment for complex health issues and elective procedures. Hospitals earning the designation are evaluated on measures such as patient outcomes, risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications, level of nursing care and patient experience.

“For more than 35 years, U.S. News has been a leading resource for patients navigating their health care decisions,” said Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor at U.S. News. “The ‘High Performing’ designation acknowledges hospitals that consistently deliver high-quality care for specific medical procedures and conditions.”
