Doors open at 7:30 a.m., check-in begins at 8:30 a.m., and competition runs 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Spectators are welcome, and matches will be broadcast on large screens throughout the venue. Tournament brackets will be split by age group to keep competition fair for beginners and seasoned players alike.
Cash-prize titles include Fortnite, Rocket League, Valorant, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Madden NFL 2025 and a custom racing simulator. New this year is an RPG room featuring games such as Dungeons & Dragons, plus a cosplay competition.
Organizers recommend creating a player profile ahead of time at SoDakCircuit.com. Players and parents can also sign up for email updates and follow SoDak Circuit on social media as details evolve.
The event highlights the rapid growth of South Dakota high school esports. In the inaugural sanctioned season last year, 44 schools fielded teams with 489 students participating, according to SDN. Seven of SDN’s 17 member companies sponsored teams in their service areas, supporting 25 programs statewide. Forecasts for the 2025–26 academic year anticipate roughly double the number of schools and players as more districts launch teams through the South Dakota High School Activities Association.
For SDN Communications and its member companies, the showcase also underscores the reach of their 50,000+ miles of fiber-optic infrastructure, which the organization says covers more than 90% of the state. The event aims to connect students and young adults with pathways to tech and telecommunications careers in Rapid City, the Black Hills, and across South Dakota.
