LOWER BRULE, S.D. (July 31, 2025) – G.F. Buche Co. will officially open its newest location, Buche’s Gus Stop – Lower Brule, on Friday, August 8, with a grand opening event aimed at welcoming the community and celebrating continued investment in South Dakota’s tribal communities.

The festivities begin at 11 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in the grocery store parking lot. Scheduled speakers include Lower Brule Sioux Tribal Chairman Boyd Gourneau, G.F. Buche Co. President and CEO RF Buche, and additional special guests.

From 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., guests can enjoy a free community lunch, featuring hot dogs, mac & cheese, cookies, and bottled water. Family-friendly activities will include bouncy houses and kids’ games running until 3 p.m.

“Lower Brule has always held a special place in our hearts,” said RF Buche. “We are grateful for the warm welcome and excited to continue investing in the community, creating access to fresh food and convenient services.”

The new full-service Gus Stop location offers groceries, fuel, convenience items, hardware, sporting goods, and more—all under one roof. It is managed by Jason Goodface, a familiar face in the region, and continues the company’s longstanding commitment to providing essential services across tribal and rural South Dakota communities.

Buche Foods was originally founded on the Yankton Sioux Reservation and has grown to serve several communities across the state. The Lower Brule location adds to that legacy, reinforcing Buche’s mission to serve with respect, access, and quality.
