RAPID CITY, S.D. – Dairy Queen® fans in Rapid City and across the Black Hills can satisfy their sweet tooth for a good cause later this month. On Wednesday, July 31, all participating Dairy Queen locations in Rapid City will celebrate Miracle Treat Day®, where at least $1 from every Blizzard® Treat sold will benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals®, including Monument Health Hospital.
This national initiative, now in its 42nd year, has raised more than $185 million to support children’s hospitals across the U.S. Locally, the funds raised on Miracle Treat Day will directly support pediatric care at Monument Health, helping to provide essential equipment, services and family support for young patients in western South Dakota.
“Participating in Miracle Treat Day at DQ is a meaningful and delicious way for the Rapid City community to turn their Blizzard Treat purchases into something that makes a difference,” said Maria Hokanson, Executive Vice President of Marketing for American Dairy Queen Corporation. “We are grateful for the partnership with the local hospital and look forward to making this the most impactful Miracle Treat Day yet.”
With 15 Dairy Queen restaurants in Rapid City, the potential to make a local impact is significant. In previous years, area DQ locations have rallied community support for Monument Health by promoting the event across social media and in-store.
Residents are encouraged to:
- Visit a participating DQ in Rapid City on July 31
- Purchase any Blizzard® Treat (every flavor counts)
- Share their experience online using #MiracleTreatDay
Proceeds from the day will stay in the Rapid City area to help Monument Health meet the unique needs of children and families across the Black Hills.
