RAPID CITY, S.D. — Driven Fire Consultants has announced the opening of a permanent office in Rapid City, marking a significant expansion of its footprint in western South Dakota.

The new two-level facility, located at 650 Flormann Street, includes an unfinished basement with potential for future growth. The opening reflects Driven Fire Consultants’ long-term commitment to serving the Black Hills region.

“We are extremely thankful that Elevate Rapid City reached out to help us open an office in Rapid City with the promise of filling our growing staffing needs,” said Jared Van Gammeren, founder and owner of Driven Fire Consultants. “This also allowed us to get Austin back to Rapid City, where he graduated from, after working with us in Sioux Falls for several years. We are excited to be able to offer local graduates career opportunities close to home where job opportunities are sometimes hard to find.”

Driven Fire Consultants initially established a presence in Rapid City in June 2023 through Elevate Rapid City’s DLAB program. Since then, the firm has steadily grown its local team, including hiring four mechanical engineering graduates from South Dakota School of Mines over the past two years. The company also recently added two more Mines graduates to its Sioux Falls office, strengthening its statewide commitment to nurturing local talent.

“Building a team with local talent has been a key part of our success,” said Austin Klein, Rapid City Division Manager. “We’re proud to offer opportunities for Mines graduates to stay in Rapid City and build their careers right here at home.”

Founded in August 2015, Driven Fire Consultants has expanded from its Sioux Falls headquarters, becoming a leader in fire protection engineering across South Dakota. The new Rapid City office underscores the firm’s investment in the region’s future and its dedication to growing the engineering workforce in the Black Hills.
