Rapid City Spice & Tea Exchange Under New Ownership

Last Updated 2 weeks ago

When the new owner, Christine Ivey, stepped into The Spice & Tea Exchange® of Rapid City, she knew she had found her niche. She has always been a foodie, but when food sensitivities arose a few years ago, she turned to her resourceful side to find healthy and innovative solutions to enjoy food again. After discovering new avenues to flavor, she is thrilled to help customers find theirs at her newly reopened The Spice & Tea Exchange® of Rapid City. Located at 519 6th Street in downtown Rapid City, South Dakota, the store will celebrate a Grand Reopening from February 28 through March 2.

“I can’t follow a recipe to save my life, and I have never been able to follow the rules,” laughs Christine, owner of The Spice & Tea Exchange® of Rapid City. “It’s fun to play and experiment with flavors, and as someone who has to be so cognizant of the ingredients I use, quality matters. That’s what I love about The Spice & Tea Exchange’s products. They’re fresh, flavorful, and responsibly sourced. It’s exactly what I used in my kitchen even before I bought the store.”

The Spice & Tea Exchange® of Rapid City boasts a wide range of herbs, spices, aromatics, traditional and signature blends. Customers can also explore shelves of infused sugars, honey, and hand-blended teas. A lifelong believer in the power of a good cup of tea, Christine is partial to the Spiced Ruby Cider Herbal Tea. “Tea is aesthetically pleasing,” says Christine. “I love the health benefits and the history behind it in various cultures.” The in-store tea bar allows shoppers to grab a hot or iced cup to take on their adventures.

“I’m so excited to be part of this community,” reveals Christine. “I’ve always loved walking through downtown, enjoying the architecture and ambiance. It’s a unique experience, and I’m excited for everyone in Rapid City to visit our shop. We’re already open and doing fun events, like our recent Sip.Shop.Taste Tea & Scones, where we offered samples of our seasonal teas and scones from Dawn’s Wild Yeast Breads. From the minute they walk in, customers will be enchanted by the smell of our quaint shop. Feel free to come down, chat with us, and check out everything we offer.”
