Last Updated 2 days ago

Property Meld, Rapid City SaaS company and leading property management maintenance software announced its acquisition of Mezo, a cutting-edge AI software company specializing in residential work order intake, triage, and mitigation. This strategic move marks a pivotal moment in Property Meld’s mission to deliver a world-class outcome as the leading Property Maintenance Operations platform. The acquisition expands Property Meld’s AI capability to uniquely improve property maintenance efficiency and experience.

According to a release, the acquisition will bring Mezo’s virtual maintenance technician, MAX™ to Property Meld’s customers. MAX™ is a friendly AI bot that helpfully collects information, resolves issues, and mitigates emergencies. This is a giant leap from traditional methods of form-based maintenance submissions. MAX™ aims to be a friendly and helpful companion to residents during stressful situations. Allowing property management companies to provide a white-glove experience to the masses while capturing the right information to ensure a fast resolution.

“We are thrilled to bring MAX™ to the Property Meld platform,” said Ray Hespen, CEO and Co-founder of Property Meld. “Mezo’s unique and innovative approach to AI-driven intake and remediation creates an exceptional experience while simultaneously capturing the data needs for the future of AI-driven maintenance. We expect our customers to surpass market standards in both experience and efficiency, and the addition of Mezo represents another significant step toward achieving that goal.”

Property Meld is working quickly to ensure its customers can leverage this transformative technology as part of its standard offering as early as February 2025.

Property Meld History

Property Meld was founded in 2015 by SD Mines Alum Ray Hespen and David Kingman. In 2017, they returned to Rapid City through the David Lust Accelerator Building, formerly Ascent Innovation Center. Not long after, the two-person company grew to more than a dozen employees, so they graduated out of the incubator into downtown right next to the MudHole. In 2021, the company broke ground on its downtown headquarters: 406 St Joseph Street.

Tom Johnson, president and CEO of Elevate Rapid City, said, “In a time of rapid change in the technology sector, it’s great to see a Rapid City company play offense, especially in the AI space.”

In 2023 Property Meld received $15 million in Series B funding led by Frontier Growth.
