Shopping and indoor family-friendly activities are the common theme for this month’s recent openings in Rapid City. One indoor play facility, West River Ninja, has already opened its doors, and Jump N Slide Adventure Park will soon follow. Downtown Rapid City continues to welcome new places to shop. And Uptown Rapid has seen some changes. These are in addition to our recent recap of new restaurants that opened.

The grand opening for Renew Medical Aesthetics was October 17. They offer advanced treatments and procedures for skincare and anti-aging.

Whim and Wise Modern Mercantile
Whim and Wise opened Friday, October 18 in downtown Rapid City. It is a luxe mercantile offering gifts, clothing, and home décor.

Byrch Boutique

Byrch Boutique opened its doors in downtown Rapid City in September 2024. Owner Stacey Denke wanted women in the community to have more options for business casual and special event clothing.
The inspiration for the store comes from Stacey’s own experiences. Prior to opening the boutique, Stacey had worked in corporate positions for 20 years. When she moved to Rapid City 8 years ago, she found it difficult to find professional clothing that fit her style. She would end up traveling to shop or inevitably shopping for clothes online.
A close mentor to Stacey saw how hard she was working in her career in the corporate world and encouraged her to explore the path of entrepreneurship and build something for herself. If she could build anything what would that be. Her answer? Combining her love of clothing with the need for more local shopping options. Byrch Boutique was born.
Byrch Boutique – which is an ode to her late parents, Byron and Cherry – is intended to be a place where clothes translate into confidence. Stacey is a firm believer that the right outfit can set someone up for success whether that’s a big meeting or a first date.
The boutique offers a wide variety of sizes which was important to Stacey; she wants women to have an option no matter their size. She carries a mixture of clothing that can be dressed up or down, worn to the office or date on a date, as well as pieces that could be worn to a formal event like a gala.

West River Ninja

New at Uptown Rapid
Sports Attic
Sports Attic opened on October 10 at Uptown Rapid. It is located in the former Sears wing, near Traders Market. The store offers new and used hard-to-find shoes. According to their Instagram page, they buy, sell, trade, and consign brands like Supreme, Yeezys, Dunks, Kobes and Jordans.

Uncle Louie’s Diner
A third location of fandom has been added to the Uncle Louie’s Diner. Established in August 2019 by Debbie and Dave (Uncle Louie), the diner has locations in Sturgis, SD and Sundance, Wyoming. Now, there is a Rapid City location at Uptown Rapid. Uncle Louie’s is the space formerly occupied by Maple Street Barbecue, or long-time residents may remember Fuddruckers.
The diner offers breakfast all day in addition to daily specials, burgers, and their take on tacos, burritos, and chimichangas.

Businesses Coming Soon to Rapid City
Jump N Slide Adventure Park
Rapid City’s first indoor inflatable park, Jump N Slide Adventure Park, is set to open in November. Located at 840 E Centre Street, this will be the perfect spot for year-round, family-friendly activity. The exact opening date in November has not been announced, but there is a special Sneak Peek event on Friday, October 25.

West River Comedy
While we’re sure open mic nights will continue at area breweries, soon West River Comedy will have a permanent home for local comedians to perform. West River Comedy Club signed a lease in downtown Rapid City. The club has an anticipated opening date of January 2025. Keep an eye out on their social media and website for all the shows until then!

Mr. Liquor – Second Location
The construction has been hard to miss off Catron Boulevard as Mr. Liquor works to open its second location in Rapid City. The first store, at 3609 Sturgis Road was opened at the former Mr. Movies location. The owners broke ground October 2023 for the second location and should open before the end of October 2024. Mr. Liquor is a locally-owned beer, wine, and liquor shop. The second location will feature a beer and wine bar.
